Top Dog Friendly Beaches

Top Dog Friendly Beaches

Branksome Chine Poole is a Sand & shingle beach located near Bournemouth in Dorset. A Blue Flag Award beach, Branksome Chine Poole has excellent water quality and some of the best facilities in South West England. Dogs are not allowed in the main beach area from the 1st May - 30th Sept.

Hengistbury Head

Hengistbury Head is one of our favourite walks, with or without the dogs. This walk starts with an easy climb to the top of Hengistbury Head which is near the disused coastguard station. This is an excellent view point for Poole Bay, Isle of Wight and Christchurch Harbour and the views are fantastic. Continue along the top of the Head before descending to the Mudeford Sandbank where you are able to get a ferry across to Mudeford Quay. Go around the sandbank, first along the beach on the seaward side, then along the track/gravel road on the harbour side. Finally return to the Hickers Café for a nice hot coffee and some decent food  before you go home and wash the dog. Below image is from jade Lauran Photography.
